Our Founders
The faces and hearts behind the ministry
The Baileys
Amy and Leonard Bailey are the co-founders of Restoring Hope Ministry, a Christ-centered ministry created from their own experience of profound loss and a desire to ensure that grieving individuals and families do not walk the road of grief alone.
Amy serves as Executive Director of Restoring Hope Ministry. A former high school business teacher, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources from Liberty University and is an IBCC Certified Mental Health Coach specializing in grief and loss. She has also completed grief support training through the Dougy Center, a nationally recognized organization focused on childhood and family bereavement. Her work is shaped by a deep commitment to compassionate presence, thoughtful grief support, and creating spaces where those who are grieving can be known, supported, and reminded of the hope found in Christ.
Leonard serves as Chairman of Restoring Hope Ministry and is pastor of Hope of Christ Church in Stafford, Virginia. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Towson University, a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Metro Atlanta Seminary. His pastoral experience and theological training help ground the ministry’s approach to grief in Scripture, lament, and enduring Christian hope.
Leonard and Amy have been married since 1992. They have four children, three children-in-law, and four grandchildren. Their daughter Ilona went to be with the Lord in 2022. Together, they founded Restoring Hope Ministry with a desire to come alongside grieving people with the kind of presence, care, and community that become especially meaningful after life has been changed by loss.
Invite Us to Speak
